Remember, It's Just ADVICE

I'm fresh into my marriage. Will be two years this year, but I have been with my now husband for 14 years. Lawd, that makes me feel old. Now I enjoy being married. LLLOOVVEEEE IT! But ummmmmrraaaahhhuuuhhhhh, let's talk about married people advice. I'm not saying "all married people" but I've notice that married people LLOOVVEEE to give you the  "I'm up here and your down there" advice. Or they give you the "right, holy" answer. Like bih I'll still give you a two piece! Tell me that I need to leave Jaquan ass alone because he only act right in the winter. Tell me what you would've told me 6 months ago before you got married. I am WORTH MORE! Don't hit me with a bible verse, don't hit me with an I'll pray for you, don't try to tell me this is in God's plan, don't tell me how to keep a man, or why my man ain't acting right... again YOU JUST GOT MARRIED LESS THAN 5 YEARS AGO! I know ya'll ...

Oh Leh Do It!!

Bust into 2018 lliikkkeeee  ... I'm not about to give ya'll the I'm Back spill b/c ccchhhiiillleeee .... I aint loyal. LMAO!! But seriously I am TRYING to be more consistent because this is a great outlet for me to express myself. PLUS you raggedy people in my inbox got my nerves bad with needing advice. SO..... How's ya 2018 going so far? As I am typing this my son is trying to crawl all over me, screaming MA MA MA MA, and my husband is trying to keep him away so I can finish this. LOL. THIS IS MY LIFE! I can't make eye contact with my own damn child or I will have to fight him into the play pen. I love it though. Of course I've been seeing the negative things being said about people that say this new year, they are doing new things. Honestly, I just look over that negatively. If you are not looking forward to growing as a person. business owner, friend, mother, father, or whatever, than you are WWEEIIRRDDD! Of course people can start these things...

4th Or Nah

We are NOT gone argue today black people. Nah y'all know damn well why black people do not celebrate July 4th. But incase you don't, follow along below .... July 4,1776 - American Colonies declares independence  June 19,1865 - slaves were informed they were free According to my college drop out math .... that's 89 years of popping fireworks that black people didn't get to do. Now I'm not mad at anybody celebrating the 4th. I am and will FOR EVAH partake in the bbq's, spades games, firework popping festivities as long as I live. I just want black people on this day to stop getting upset when you wish another black person a "Happy 4th Of July" and they just look at your ass. BE CAUSE ... several people STILL have no idea what Juneteenth is and no one is barking up your tree about that. Hell that should be a mandatory paid holiday for ALL black folks hell.  So get your kids dressed in their red, white, and blue ( my baby has on coral ...

Ex Wife is in, I am Out - Reader Letter

Dear Shanice, My name is Rose. Currently I was dating an older male and he was recently divorced. He told me that him and his ex wife grew apart. That he stopped finding  her attractive and soon the love went left. He said he hated her style of fashion, and so forth. Because I thought this was going to be my husband, I found his wife's social media accounts and made sure I was to complete opposite of what she was. I'm not going to lie, she was a very attractive older lady and her style was not bad at all. So I kicked my fashion up a few notches, started wearing more heels, more make up, switching up my hair styles and he loved it. After a few months of dating, he told me he loved me and once my lease was up on my apartment we should move in together. The thing is I had just signed a new lease so that was gonna be at least a year. I told him I could just buy out of it but he said no, a year would give us more time to get closer and you never know what would happen. He said an...

Baby's Out - Now What?!

HHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! I been gone for a minute now I'm back with the jump off. So the baby is OUT! The marriage has hit it's first year mark! NAW WHA GIRL! I have been asking myself that for that last week now. Today my little sweet baby is in his swing and mama has actually COOKED DINNER! Ya'll I done cookeded a meal! Like a meat and two sides type meal. I'm proud LOL! A few weeks ago I would be hoovering over him watching him sleep. Anywho - back to the question. What am I to do now that baby is out!?  GET TO THIS SHAMONEY IS WHAT!! Having my son didn't give me a surge of "I gotta get get iittt" (s/o to Jeezy) but it did give me a surge in a timeline. I have always said I want to buy my first house at this age, have this much done by this age and honestly all that moved up a few years now. It feels super weird getting back into business mode now with my son b/c quick jobs I used to do - I now need to find a reliable sitter that can be...

Is Pregnancy Weight Shaming A Thing?

I received an email saying that I was pregnancy weight shaming on my FB page. First things first -  I'm having a boy!!! I am so excited because (when i did want multiple kids because this pregnancy shit it tew murch and tew long) I wanted my oldest child to be a boy,  wanted my husband to have a son first, and I wanted our last name to move on to another generation. My husband is the only boy so yeah .... PRESSURE lol. So I received an email from someone on my facebook page saying I was body shaming pregnant women because I stated I was proud that I only gained 10 pounds and I was 6 months pregnant at the time. I'm still at 10 pounds and I'm in my 26th week. It said pregnant women should not be ashamed of how much weight they gain and how I was rude and "probably harming my baby" because I was being self centered worrying about my own weight. Now listen here ... I was already a thick girl umkay! According to records I was obese for my height, which...

Dear MEM - I Never Wanted To Be A Single Mom

Dear Shanice, First congratulation on your marriage and baby. My name is Breneesha and I am currently pregnant. My baby daddy and I did not plan on getting pregnant and it seems like as soon as I took the test our relationship went to shit. We were living together but he has basically moved out. We have never talked about having kids but we have been together a little over a year. I might see him once a week, and when I ask him where he is going or staying he literally ignores me and leaves. Last week I packed up all of his clothes and told him that he could leave for good and not come back. He is listed on the lease and still pays half the bills. He told me he wasn't going anywhere and once the baby was born he would be back staying full time. Full time? What does that mean? I told him I have basically went through this pregnancy alone and I am fine being a single mom. I have made my mind up that I am going to move into a one bedroom and live alone. I don't know what he is ...
